Flutter Introduction - Part 1

Part of creating this website was to document my forage into making an app, and publishing it to the Android Play store or Apple App Store. I have never programmed and know no coding language.

The idea came from a random youtube video, where it was talking about programming, and it talked about Flutter, the new coding language from Google. It supports cross platform meaning I can code it once and it should work on both Android, Apple and even Windows.

There is a lot of videos online about how to start out. But the best resource I found for total newbies is AppBrewery course, which is actually free: https://www.appbrewery.co/p/intro-to-flutter 

The course tutor is actually a Doctor and she explains it really well. I plan to finish this free course and I have already paid for the full course, then I hope to start my app development. I'll document my journey here so stay tuned!

How to set up Office 365 for NHS workers

During the Covid-19 lockdown, the NHS was doing some big deals. One such deal was with Microsoft to provide all their staff with Office 365. This includes their email services but also 1TB cloud storage, video-conferencing software and importantly their suite of Office programs. This includes their well known MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and more. This was agreed from the 15th June 2020 and will last until April 2023, though hopefully longer.  Those who have used these suite of programs recently may already know, but if you want to use the latest edition of Word, Excel or PowerPoint, you will now need an ongoing subscription. There is no longer a yearly release of these programs that you would purchase as a one-off, now you purchase a Microsoft 365 subscription that will allow you to download the newest edition of these programs. How to set up EMIS Web on your own PC

Due to Covid19, a lot of GPs have had to do more home working / remote access. A few GPs got given laptops with all the software included, but in my experience, the laptops can be a bit hit-and-miss. I thought I'd do a guide on how to setup home working on either your PC or Mac.
